WE ARE BDA
Bailando Dancesport Academy (BDA) was established in 2014 by our Principal, Ms. Vivian Chen who is also a WDSF Licensed “A” Adjudicator.
BDA was established to introduce and to broaden the reach of the beauty in dancesport by educating dancers about the merging of athleticism and art.
Starting from humble beginnings, with a class of 4 students, we are proud to have trained over a hundred dancers who have excelled in competition, including 2 of our current coaches, Edwin and Kimberly.
Edwin and Kimberly are the reigning undefeated Malaysian National Champions for 12 years running.
Their greatest competitive achievement is representing Malaysia to the 2017 Asian Indoor Games and 2019 SEA Games where they were finalists in both Games.
10 Dance Specialist
BDA is one of the few studios in Malaysia to specialise in 10-dances in both Latin and Standard disciplines as all head coaches and junior coaches are former representatives of Malaysia to 10-Dance World Championships and finalists and champions in Malaysia and regional competitions of their age group categories respectively.

Besides our main coaches, BDA is proud to have this team of coaches who are champions and finalists of their individual age group national competitions as well as national athletes selected to represent Malaysia at the World Championships and Asian Championships.

WDSF DanceSport Proficiency Test (WDSF DSPT)
BDA is one of the first studios in Malaysia which offers the WDSF Dancesport Proficiency Test where candidates are graded based on the criteria used to judge competitors in the Olympic family Games.
DSPT starts candidates off with different levels of medal tests whereby candidates are graded based on practical assessments.
At BDA, we will place students under our DanceSport Foundation Program, a holistic program curated exclusively by BDA to train students on both disciplines of Latin & Standard concurrently before moving up to Bronze, Silver, Gold, Star Award 1, 2 & 3.
Professional Tests
Candidates who are interested to dive deeper into the technical aspects can opt-in for the path of professional tests.
They will be assessed practically and theoretically in accordance to the 10 WDSF Technique Books.
